To the attention of persons intending to become judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court

30.05.2025

Please be informed, that the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges” Regarding Clarification of Procedures of the Competition for the Position of a Judge and Secondment of Judges” (No. 4433-IX), adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on May 14, 2025, has been submitted to the President of Ukraine for signature. This law substantially amends the procedural aspects of the selection process for the position of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

In particular, once the law enters into force:

  • The 75-percent passing score for the test on the history of Ukrainian statehood will be abolished. Instead, the passing score will be determined independently by the Commission, similarly to how the cognitive ability test score is set.
  • The repeated interview with competition winners after the qualification evaluation will be abolished. The interview with a candidate will take place exclusively as part of the qualification evaluation during the competition.
  • Candidates who participated in the competition, announced in 2023, for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and its Appellate Chamber will be eligible to participate in the next such competition during martial law and within one year after its termination.

In this regard, on May 29, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine decided that applications for participation in the competition to the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court will not be accepted in June 2025.

A decision on the start of applications submission for participation in the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court and its Appellate Chamber will be made promptly after Law No.4433-IX enters into force and will be published on the official website of the Commission along with the conditions for the competition.
